The first encounter happened in 1511, when sinking a boat of the expedition of Valdivia that towards the route from Panama to Santo Domingo. Due to the strategic location of Tayasal the Spaniards decide to leave it and is until the year of 1697 D.C when the Spaniards return to the city that was burned and destroyed by the Spaniards. Later in the year 1523 D.C were made the conquest of Chiapas begun by the commander Diego de Mazariegos with not many registered battles.
