| The first
encounter happened in 1511, when sinking a boat of the
expedition of Valdivia that towards the route from Panama
to Santo Domingo. Two survivors, Gonzalo Guerrero and
Jerónimo de Aguilar, were made prisoners by the
Mayans; Soldiers were adopted to their customs, married
and had descendants, arriving including a to fight next
to the Mayans against their compatriots; whereas Aguilar
remained like slave and, in 1519, it was united to Courteous

After the
fall of the Aztec Empire in Mexico, Spain began the
conquest of the Mayans in Guatemala and Honduras. The
conquest of Honduras was made by Francisco de Montejo,
Andrés Cereceda and Pedro de Alvarado. In 1523
D.C. Pedro de Alvarado began the conquest of Guatemala.
Its first effort failed, but he tried again in 1525
D.C. Honduras and Guatemala were conquered with very
few battles and in very just a short time, with exception
of the Itzá of Tayasal. |
| Due to the
strategic location of Tayasal the Spaniards decide to
leave it and is until the year of 1697 D.C when the
Spaniards return to the city that was burned and destroyed
by the Spaniards. Later in the year 1523 D.C were made
the conquest of Chiapas begun by the commander Diego
de Mazariegos with not many registered battles. |

The resistance
more hard was shown by the tribes of the Chamulas in
March of 1524 D.C and the battle of Tepetchia in November
of 1526 D.C. Two years later, the Spaniards founded
the Real City, near Chamula which had been burned. Today
the beautiful city of San Cristóbal of the Houses
