BEES
Join
with us in a stroll through the low jungle of the Mexican
Caribbean. More than 100 species grow here, such as
trees and flowering bushes; useful for construction,
ornamental and medicinal purposes. The path through
the forest is located in a natural depression, offering
protection against the hurricanes that endanger many
species of plants such as the kukab, the chit, the nakace,
and the guano palm.

BUTTERFLIES
The
compound encloses a wonderful world for butterflies,
with waterfalls, plants, flowers - marvelous for relaxing
and simply observing. Our goal is to repopulate the
area with many species of butterflies that are threatened
with extinction.

JAGUARS
|
Jaguars, hunters
by nature, live on an island of trees which provide them
shade. Fixed telescopes offer a glimpse of these gracefully
powerful felines. |
|
MAMMALS
Walking through the tranquil paths of the park, you
find exhibits of wildlife. Timid and beautiful, our
white tail deer and temazate, the Red Brocket
Deer, are the delight of all.
Other local animals, such as the coatimundi and spider
monkeys, all of which live on their own islands. Keep
your eyes peeled and you will be able to see a family
of howler monkeys that jump freely through the trees.

TURTLES
Get
to know four of the seven species of turtle found on
the coasts of Mexico (mesoamerican river turtle, loggerhead
turtle, hawksbill sea turtle and the Kemp's Ridley Sea
Turtle). You will have the opportunity of seeing them
in different phases of their life, from the little newborns
up to the enormous adult turtles swimming around the
natural reservoirs. Since 1996, we have participated
actively in protection and preservation through investigations
coordinated with government institutions, as well as
with national and international research centers.

CROCODILES AND SHARKS
For
more than 140 million years, crocodiles have dominated
the lagoons and rivers of the tropics. Because of their
slow metabolism and cold blood they maintain their body
temperature by laying in the sun and occasionally taking
a dip. However, they are hunters capable of jumping
vertically as high as they are long! The species that
you will see here are known scientifically as Moreletti.
They grow to a little more than 3 meters. The exhibition
of cat sharks in the "tiburonario" brings
you face to face with the sharks that are now in danger
of extinction due to uncontrolled fishing.
