The official currency is the Mexican Weight. A dollar equals
to Mexican 10 pesos approximately, varying according to the
fluctuations of the market cambiario.
· GASTRONOMÍA.
Our restaurants of various characteristic offer since
the typical food maya, until diverse varieties of gastronomía
Mexican and international.
· ARQUEOLOGÍA.
In all the Riviera maya are appreciated vestigios of
the different historic phases of the town maya. The hidden
city of Coba or the city amurallada of Tulum, are some of
the enormous archaeological wealth that they can be hit. Temples
and ceremonial centers, dispersed roads in the forest, buildings
for the observation astronómica, fields for the old
play of pelota and by their placed numerous pyramids, are
the mute monuments of the culture but important of the old
one Mesoamérica.
. CLIMATE.
In the region the climate is tropical, with an annual
temperature average of 26C, being able to arrive at the 35ºC
in summer. The highest temperatures register among the months
of May and August, the season of rains understands September
and October.
. TRANSPORTATION.
The international airport of Cancún, to two hours of
flight since Mexico, D.F. is the main door of access to the
Riviera Maya. The highway costera that joins with you take
care of it Cancún with Tulum, and another that links
the cities of Tulum and Cobá are the main terrestrial
ways of communication. Beach of the Carmen counts on a small
airport of which they leave airplanes that they do traveled
through short. Since Beach of the Carmen and Calica leave
transbordadores that they link to the continent with the islands
of the caribe.
. COMMUNICATIONS.
In all the Riviera Maya telephone cottages exist to speak
with card, offering local and international service. Also
in all the places are offices of mail with services of telegram,
besides Coffees Internet (CiberCafés), to be in contact
with the entire world.
. ELECTRICITY.
The electric current is of 110 volts, the same as in all the
Mexican territory.
. USE SCHEDULE.
The use schedule corresponds to that of the city of Mexico
. COMMERCIAL SCHEDULE.
The majority of the business remain open to the public
since the 9 of the morning until the 10 of the night, closing
(in intervalos) among the 2 and 4 of the afternoon.
. PEOPLE AND LANGUAGES.
The official language of Mexico is the Spaniard. In the Zone
the local population speaks maya. In almost all the places
is spoken English, as well as other languages.
