In center of the Mayan Riviera
is a small villa of fishermen called Playa del Carmen;
to single 52 km of Cancún, and to a similar distance
of the Mayan archaeological zone of Tulum is this old
well known village of fishermen with the Mayan voice Xama
Há. A romantic place and with a very European style
of life, people comes to this site to relax and to rest.
The beaches, the sand, the palms and the fresh breeze
of the sea do of this somewhat unique place in the region.
Playa,
as to their inhabitants and tourists say to him, has
been developed thanks to the multiple investments that
in few years have stimulated their growth. The one that
outside a site privileged by the tranquillity and the
simplicity, not more than a port from which they left
the ferrys for Cozumel, has become one of the more important
and falsified tourist centers of attraction of the Mayan
Riviera.
As of the year
1967 Playa del Carmen has been evolving until becoming
a cosmopolitan port. In their majority the Beach inhabitants
of the Carmen are native of the region; nevertheless,
a great part of the population this composing by immigrants,
as much of Mexico, as of other countries. Among them we
found some artists like painters, musicians, dancers and
actors.
The Beach
folklore does not finish there. Frequently they appear
different groups from “entretenedores”.
That way we listened to typical songs on the part of
pairs or trios; beyond it is heard are of marimba or
a group of guapangueros of the Mexican state of Veracruz.
The 5ht avenue
is the collection point of this multicultural one and
cosmopolitan you take care of Caribbean. It is bordered
by stores of crafts and exclusive beach clothes. As far
as the restaurants, they offer Mexican gastronomy, Mayan,
French, Italian, Alemena or Asiática. The nights
in Beach are most vibrant, glad and intense of the Mayan
Riviera, since the temperament and energy of people are
combined worldwide, creating incomparable an multiethnic
atmosphere. To only 20 minutes of it finds Playacar, a
luxurious residential complex with restaurants, hotels,
a golf course, and an exotic aviario.
