The Mayan, was obsessed
with the time idea. Of all the systems of old calendars
worldwide, his most complex, they are confused and exact.
This obsession lead them to create numerous calendars,
three of which they are mentioned here. The Tzolkin
is the exact astronomical calendar. The Haab is the
solar calendar (also it called the Vague calendar) and
the “Long Account” that the march of the
time through the thousands of years of the past measures,
present and future. |

The Tzolkin is an astronomical
calendar and has 13 months of 20-days each one doing
a year of 260 days. This year is not a solar year, is
an astronomical year. This period of time was called
Ronda Sagrada. Ronda Sagrada of 260 days moves through
the classification of the time, in a repetitive snail,
that finds to the Haab calendar at the end of 52 years
solars. |
| The Vague Year (Vague)
or Haab calendar of 365 days, is similar to our modern
calendar, unless only that uses 18 months of 20 days
each one, with an unfortunate period of the five-days
at the end of the year; which was known like “Uayeb”.
The Mayan knew the concept leap year year and I fit
to the calendar each exactly every four years exactly
since it is made today. The Haab is the solar calendar;
while clearly, the Tzolkin was used to measure things
beyond our Solar System. |

The union
of the Tzolkin and the Haab it happens every 52 solar
years and 73 years of Tzolkin. The aim of this cycle
was feared, because it thought that it was a time in
which the world could finish. This 52 solar year, period
of time, were called “bulk” and meant the
same for the Mayans, as our century I mean for us. |
| The cycle
of year 52 was inadequate, to measure the continuous
one I journey of the time through the ages. Nevertheless,
another calendar was used. This one was called the Long
Account. Mayan Long Cuenta has date of beginning in
August 10 of 3114 A.C and runs to the present time and
the future. They indeed indicate a date exact. |
